Las Vegas wedding chapel offers free wedding to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce

LAS VEGAS — A Las Vegas wedding chapel is offering to pay for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding if they decide to get married after the Super Bowl. In this Zevely Zone, I found out more about the offer and how some NFL fans are experiencing what’s being coined “Swelce Bowl” fatigue.

It may be a publicity stunt, but a lot of people are getting married in Vegas this week and wouldn’t it be great if it ended with Travis and Taylor saying “I do.” We didn’t meet Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, instead we saw Betty and Frank from Texas get married.  The Chapel of the Flowers says if Taylor and Travis, the famous power couple, wants a free wedding with the works they’re game.

“We are offering that if Taylor and Travis would like to get married, they can come on down and we will roll out the red carpet for them and give them the ceremony that they deserve,” said Cynthia Sharpe from Chapel of the Flowers. She says their chapel can do it all from sultry to Star Wars themes and deliver a dream ceremony for Travis and Taylor. “Taylor’s favorite color is purple, so I just see lots and lots of purple flowers everywhere and then obviously candles down the aisle,” said Cynthia.

Super Bowl rumors are flying about Kelce being focused on a different kind of “ring” and possibly proposing to Swift if the Chiefs win the championship, as for the possible bride? While walking the Vegas Strip we talked to Super Bowl fans. “What’s your take on Taylor Swift?” I asked a tourist named Dawn. “I love her. She is a great person, and she has really great music.” Her friend Tracy added, “I think she’s a cutie, I like her, I like Taylor Swift.”

But talk of the so called ‘Swiftie’ or ‘Swelce Bowl’ has created some fan fatigue. “No thanks. I don’t know, I’d rather watch a football game, I’d rather watch the Chiefs beat the 49ers than look at that dumb (expletive).” said Lindsay from Green Bay.

For the record, most people said the following about one of the greatest performers of a generation. “She is amazing, she just released an album at the same time she is on tour I can’t even wash my clothes and fold my laundry on the same day,” said a fan named Deena.

Back at The Chapel of the Flowers, in a town known for long odds, a Kelce-Swift wedding may seem like a bust. Offering a free wedding to two celebrities worth hundreds of millions of dollars is a game bigger than the Super Bowl. Then again this is Vegas where crazier things have happened. “I don’t know I am really hoping they do I am really hopeful,” said Cynthia.

I spoke to another wedding chapel about the magic created with a Vegas style wedding. Daniel is an event coordinator at the Royal Chapel. “Nowadays, I think people are content with mattering to just one important person – and that’s what we celebrate here.
